Condolences

Tony & Carole Mayberry (Mocksville, NC) - 3 June 2008

We were out of town when Sandra died, and did not learn of her death until today. We are devastated! We watched Sandra grow up and watched the sweet, caring child become an exceptional woman. She radiated goodness and love, and we know that Heaven will be brighter because of her presence, just as the earth will be dimmer because of her absence. Our prayers go out to all her family.

Matt and Meghan Hubbard (Winston-Salem, NC) - 23 May 2008

I heard of Sandras passing on Thursday evening. I was saddened by this tragic news. I was fortunate enough to be classmates with her through elementary school, at St. Johns Lutheran, and then we met up again a few years later at FCDS. I was, however, never to meet up with her again. Being the same age as Sandra, this really makes me appreciate how good life really is, and how we should live our lives. My deepest sympathy to her family as she truly must have been quite a resilient lady.

Barbara and Bob Price (Winston Salem, NC) - 21 May 2008

Dear Ilene and Jaime,

Our hearts go out to you both. Words cannot say the things we'd like them to, but may it be a help to know our thoughts are there with you and your family.

Sincerely,

Michael Dickey (Elizabethtown, NC) - 13 May 2008

To the Trujillo family

It is sad to learn of Sandra's passing a week ago today. Her obituary was powerfully wrtitten with the same spirit and character she shared with classmates and faculty when we were both at FCDS. Sandra's exuberance, cheer, curiosity and compassion for others when she was a teenager exemplified all that is good and worth while in our youth while teaching me again why I had chosen to be a teacher. I am thankful for having known her and worked with her. Please know that we are sending our thoughts and prayers to the Trujillo family. We shall always try to carry on some of Sandra's hope and concern for others.

Michael and Claire Dickey

Larry Link (Lexington, NC) - 13 May 2008

Dear Ilene and Jaime,

I had a chance meeting today with Michael Zimmerman and he told me of the courageous life of Sandra. There is nothing sweeter in life than our children and I'm sure you like all parents are grateful for the time we have with them. With sympathy, your old friend from NDHS.

yrna Schkolne (Winston Salem, NC) - 13 May 2008

Dear Jamie, Ilene, and Aliana,

We have only just heard of your great loss and know no words can comfort you. Even as a child, Sandra left us at a loss for words, for her extraordinary kindness and love for her fellow human beings was apparent then. May it comfort you to know that Sandra brought so much joy to this world and that she will always live in the hearts of all who knew her. We hope you find strength in each other and in your beautiful memories of Sandra.

Love,

Myrna and Ben Schkolne

Danielle Peacock (Clemmons, NC) - 12 May 2008

Dear Trujillo Family,

Words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear. May the memories of a remarkable daughter give you strength to overcome the pain.

You are in our thoughts and prayers,

The Peacock Family,

(Danielle Del Guercio FCDS 91)

Anthony Greco (Charlotte, NC) - 12 May 2008

Trujillo & Moyano Families:

I want to leave a memory I have of Sandra. I remember riding with her shortly after she got her license. She must have been helping in our carpool. I always thought the music she played in the car was too cool. I particularly remember the REM tapes she played. To this day, I think of Sandra and driving around Clemmons when I hear any REM song.

Saturday's memorial was a howling tribute to her life. I feel lucky to have been even a small part of it.

Anthony

Dear Trujillo Family,

I was a classmate of Sandra's at FCDS. I have wonderful memories of singing with Sandra in the girl's Ensemble group and performing in musicals with Sandra. I can still fondly remember her performance of Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. She was a wonderful friend to me. I will cherish my memories of her always. May God grant you peace.

Elizabeth Greco Hollenack (Albuquerque, NM) - 9 May 2008

Dr. & Mrs. Trujillo, Aliana & family,

I struggle to find the words to express my sorrow to all of you now. Sandra was such an amazing person and I will always remember her for her kindness, her phenomenal smile and the warmth that exuded from her whenever I was with her. Sandra's words of living in the moment have resounded deeply in me and I hope that I am able to so more often. My thoughts are with all of you now and I hope that you are all able to find comfort and strength in eachother and in the beautiful memories of Sandra.

Lisa Bullins (Kernersville, NC) - 9 May 2008

Dr & Mrs T. In the few times that I have been honored to be with your family and meet each of you, especially Sandra, your love for each other radiates through each of you... but beamed from her. Her positive outlook and constant peace with her trials were a testimony to the strength that she developed and you instilled. Sandra and your family have been in my prayers for a long time and now to know that she is free again although saddens us, it also gives comfort to know that she is making someone else laugh and smile with her personality and joy. I was blessed to know her in the short time that I did and I will look forward to seeing her again in a much better place!!!! My prayers and love contine to be with you and the entire family through this time.

Mary Knesel (Clemmons, NC) - 9 May 2008

Dr. Trujillo and Family,

Please accept our sincere condolences on the death of your daughter.

Danny and Mary Knesel

Alex Prescott (Irvine, CA) - 8 May 2008

I learned of Sandra's passing when speaking to my mother today. I went to high school with Sandra, and while I didn't know her very well I still feel saddened to hear of her passing- not only because her life was cut short, but because of the pain those close to her must be feeling right now. From reading her obituary it sounds like she lived a very full life, however short it was. Please accept my sincerest condolences; I hope that you will find comfort in eachother.

Nancy Shoaf (Winston Salem, NC) - 8 May 2008

DTONYA DEAN-PHOA, WINSTON SALEM - 8 May 2008

When I first met Sandra she conveyed to me her love of music and asked me "what are you listening to?".........well we were friends from there! She saw the love of music in my spirit and I saw her love of life in her spirit!! This Sandra that I was so blessed to know has left a vacancy in my life....but she will never be absent from my heart. Her spirit reminds me of a butterfly. As you watch a butterfly it flies around and touches several flowers in the garden all the while adding to the beauty of the garden with the beautiful wings flowing behind....Sandra was a beautiful butterfly......touching so many lives making them more beautiful. I am blessed to have had her walk into my life.... Peace and Blessings to the Trujillo Family

James Crandall (Winston Salem, NC) - 8 May 2008

Erica had always told me what a beautiful woman Sandra was, and I finally had a chance to meet her a few months ago at dinner at Mi Pueblo. Her smile was radiant and she exuded love and warmth. Erica was absolutley right. My heart and love go out to the family and friends of a great person who is forever engrained in our hearts and our thoughts. Rest well, beautiful lady. You deserve it.

Dr. Trujillo and Ilene, I can only imagine the loss you feel. Your daughter was a wonderful person. What a magnificent spirit she had. Her joy for life showed in her face always, even during times I'm sure she didn't feel like smiling she managed to light up the room. I know that you and Mae Lib were always so very proud of her. In our job we have the pleasure of getting to know and caring for such special people and Sandra was certainly one of those. Our hearts and prayers are with you all during this time. God bless you all. Love, Sandy (and David) Mendenhall
